OUR PROGRAMS

At Stretch, we offer a wide variety of programs to meet the development, physical, and social needs of children of all ages. All programs have been designed and developed by a pediatric therapist with over two decades of experience working with children and their families.

Stretch Programs include yoga classes for children of all abilities, therapeutic and social skills groups, preschool art and movement programming, empowerment programs, and parkour classes. Our programs are open to ALL. You do not need to be a patient to register.

Yoga Programs:

Therapeutic Yoga

Teen and Young Adults

Stretch Therapeutic Yoga was created and designed by a physical therapist and is modified and individualized for each student specific needs. Bring braces, walkers, wheelchair, or adaptive equipment to Stretch! The Stretch Therapeutic Yoga program uses creative and developmentally appropriate yoga poses, combined with a multi-sensory approach to moving and learning. Students will learn how to connect their minds, bodies, and hearts through a yoga inspired practice designed for their developmental needs. This program will develop strength, coordination, and balance, while building self-confidence, and promoting self- regulation.

Therapeutic Life Skills

Teen and Young Adults

Come socialize with friends while learning life skills and practicing activities of daily living. This program builds executive functioning skills such as organizing, sequencing, sorting, and coordinating functional tasks. Activities will include cooking, sorting laundry, money management, and leisure activities such as playing games with peers and participating in art projects. Each class will incorporate “homework” for generalization of skills as well as to promote carry-over at home.

Girl Empowerment Programs:

Girl Power

Girls 11 yrs. & under

At Stretch we believe in GIRL POWER! Our Girl Power program strives to build a healthy foundation for girls by connecting their minds, bodies, and hearts. We invite girls to “leave their worries outside and think about their happy thoughts”. We discuss our “superpowers” and how to build a “toolbox” of coping skills to help deal with failure, friendship trouble and negative self-talk. This hybrid program will be 1 hour and consist of a “Girls Group” and a “Girl Empowerment and Yoga Program”.

Girl Power Teen

Girls 12 yrs. & up

The teen years are a time of growth, and development. Teen girls struggle with anxiety, “big” emotions, and often have pressures and worries as they navigate our face-paced culture. This program will be 1 hour and consist of a “Girls Group” and a “Girl Empowerment and Yoga Program” This program will allow girls to talk and troubleshoot any issues/concerns they may be having as a group, do team building exercises, learn and practice girl "life skills", promote confidence and healthy self-care habits, social skills etc. Stretch Girl Power Programs strive to build self-esteem, positive body image and promote self-confidence. Girl Empowerment begins with recognizing how awesome we are and what makes us special. Recommended for girls with anxiety, depression, or difficulty with social skills.

Social Skills/Movement Programs:

Boot Camp Mini

3-5 yrs.

Stretch Boot Camp Mini is a high energy group for children ages 3 yrs. to 5 yrs. Elements of obstacle courses and team building activities are used to improve focus, attention, and social skills. This class is ideal for children with “high energy”, ADHD, anxiety, and ASD. This program will focus on skills such as listening, turn taking, sharing attention in a group setting, coping, and positive communication skills.

Boot Camp Jr.

6-8 yrs.

Stretch Extreme is a high energy group for children ages 6 yrs. to 8 yrs. Elements of parkour, obstacle courses, strength / circuit training, and team building activities are used to improve focus, attention, and social skills. This class is ideal for children with “high energy”, ADHD, anxiety, and ASD.

Toddler Time

3 yrs. and under

This program is for our youngest Stretch friends. Come play and socialize with friends while establishing important socio-emotional skills. This program will focus on listening, turn taking, sharing attention in a group setting, coping, and positive communication skills. Registered participants are welcome to stay for Community Based Open Gym free of charge.

Support Programs:

Dinner & Homework Club

12yrs. & up

This program is for our middle schoolers! Bring your laptops/chrome books and homework to work on with peers while having the support of our program specialists. Dinner is provided weekly.
